This is a very good solution for simple calendars where the administrators and collaborators don't need to login to WordPress - they simply use a tool they are likely to be using anyways - Google Calendar. The free version offers enough features for many but you might consider the paid version for more options. Tech Support was excellent and timely. I would highly suggest considering this plugin for your calendar needs.

The best thing about this plugin is its simplicity. If you don't need much more than an events listing, this is a great option. Content managers don't need to log into Wordpress to add and manage events, they do it in Google Calendar instead. This plugin simply links the two.

Minor-ish cons:

• Can't add a photo to an event listing (although attachments, such as agendas, etc, can be included).
• Past events can be displayed, but upcoming events do not automatically show as past once the date has passed -- the past events display parameters must be manually changed.
• Past events cannot be displayed in reverse-chronological order without custom programming.

Still, if you just want a simple events listing, this plugin is affordable and worth considering. Support is responsive, as well!

It works, but I have to redo the [Authenticate with Google] at least once a week otherwise it shows all events in the default color of Blue instead of Red or Green from the shared calendar. I have already contacted support.

After the update to 3.2.0, the WordPress core dashboard (the first thing you see after logging in) was replaced with a long ad for Simple Calendar Pro.

This is unpredictable and infuriating. I've used this plugin for 6 years now and while I do understand the author(s) financial needs, this is the wrong way to go about things.

Bad practices like global admin panel banners and dashboard replacements need to stop.

Does what it says and it's easy to implement. No issues so far on several client sites.

This plugin rarely feeds events to the site and just today it caused a critical error and took the website offline. Not worth the headache.
