How does billing actually work?

Per site, per day. Each site bills at its tier's daily rate. We total it across all your sites and charge your card once a month. Change a tier any day and it prorates from that day. No minimums, setup fees, or cancellation fees.

Can I pause a site to stop paying?

Pausing takes a site offline while keeping its data intact, but a paused site stays on its tier and is still billed. To cut a site's cost, downgrade it to the $2 sandbox tier; to stop billing entirely, delete it.

What's the difference between Sandbox and Production?

Sandbox ($2/mo) is for dev work, staging, and client builds: same WordPress, same SSH and WP-CLI. Production ($5–$45/mo) adds Premium CDN, daily backups, Advanced Shield, and more resources. Convert any sandbox to production in one click, no migration.

What happens when I convert a sandbox to production?

It’s an in-place plan change: same site, same URL, your data and SSH keys intact, no migration. Billing switches from $2/mo to your chosen tier’s daily rate from that day, prorated. Until you convert, a sandbox stays $2/mo for as long as you keep it.

Do I need a credit card to start?

Creating an account is free. A card is required to spin up a site, and adding one unlocks $25 in credits to put toward your sites.

Are there annual contracts or minimums?

No. Every site is billed daily and you can cancel any site any day. If you'd prefer to commit annually for a discount, talk to us: we offer up to 10% off for paid-upfront years on Plus and above.

Is migration really free?

Yes, migrating into InstaWP is free and zero-downtime, across 20+ hosts. The only migration we charge for is moving a site off the platform later.
