About WP Pulse Analytics: GA4 Analytics Dashboard for WordPress

WP Pulse Analytics brings your Google Analytics 4 numbers into wp-admin. Connect your GA4 property once and the dashboard shows who is on the site, which pages they read and what devices they use, so checking how a post landed no longer means logging into a second tool. It is made by Smackcoders, the developer behind WP Ultimate CSV Importer.

What the free version does

  • GA4 on your dashboard. Live visitors, sessions, page views, session length, engagement rate, new versus returning visitors, devices, browsers and your top pages, read from your own GA4 property.
  • Affiliate and outbound link tracking. List your affiliate prefixes (like /go/ or /recommends/) and partner domains once. Every matching click is sent to GA4 as its own event, grouped under a readable partner name, with a report of which page sent it.
  • File download tracking. Clicks on PDFs, ZIPs, spreadsheets, audio and other files you choose are recorded automatically.
  • Consent-aware by default. Link tracking can wait for cookie consent before recording anything, and raw visitor events are pruned after 30 days unless you change it.
  • A MonsterInsights importer. If MonsterInsights is installed, or left settings behind, Pulse offers to carry them across when you activate it.
  • WP-CLI commands. wp pulse-analytics status, doctor and sync check the GA4 connection and refresh data from the terminal, handy when you look after a lot of sites.

Free or Pro

Free covers traffic and clicks. Pro is for when you need to know where money is made or lost: WooCommerce revenue, conversion rate and a view-to-purchase funnel, a real-time page, the page-by-page journey behind each order, Core Web Vitals, form and goal tracking, Search Console data, and Ask AI, which answers plain-English questions from your GA4 numbers. In the free plugin those screens sit in the menu as blurred previews, so you see what you would get before you pay. Smackcoders sells Pro as a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.

Before you install

Pulse reads GA4 rather than counting visits itself, so you need a GA4 property for the site and its Measurement ID. On wordpress.org the plugin still sits under an older name, Web Analytics for WooCommerce, with a description from its earlier life as a WooCommerce funnel tool. The download is the current Pulse Analytics plugin. It is early days for this version: about 10 active installs and no reviews yet.

Click through it on a test site

Try Demo gives you a fresh WordPress site with Pulse Analytics already installed. Open the Pulse Analytics menu, look at the setup screen and the Pro previews, and connect a GA4 property if you want to see real numbers. Nothing touches your own site.

Full feature list and Pro pricing are on the WP Pulse Analytics product page. Compare it with other tools in the analytics plugin directory, or browse all WordPress plugins you can demo in one click.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • GA4 traffic reports in wp-admin are free, with no separate login to check a post
  • Affiliate, outbound and file download clicks are tracked in the free version
  • Partner name mapping groups many affiliate links under one program
  • Link tracking can wait for cookie consent, and raw events are pruned after 30 days
  • Imports MonsterInsights settings, and ships WP-CLI status, doctor and sync commands
  • Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription

Cons

  • Very new in this form: about 10 active installs and no reviews yet
  • WooCommerce revenue, funnels, real-time, Core Web Vitals and Search Console reports are Pro only
  • Needs a GA4 property; it does not collect its own visit counts
  • The wordpress.org listing still shows an old name and description, which makes it hard to find there
  • Pro screens appear in the free menu as blurred previews

Frequently asked questions

Is WP Pulse Analytics free?
Yes. The plugin is free on wordpress.org and covers GA4 traffic reports in wp-admin plus affiliate, outbound and download click tracking. Pulse Analytics Pro, a one-time purchase from Smackcoders, adds the WooCommerce, real-time, Core Web Vitals, Search Console and AI reports.
Do I need Google Analytics 4?
Yes. Pulse shows the data in your own GA4 property and sends its link and download events there. You enter your GA4 Measurement ID and sign in with Google to connect the property.
Can it replace MonsterInsights?
It does the same core job of showing GA4 inside WordPress, and on activation it offers to import settings from MonsterInsights if it finds them. Check which reports you rely on, since the WooCommerce and real-time reports need Pro.
Does it track WooCommerce sales?
Revenue, conversion rate, average order value, the view-to-purchase funnel and per-order customer journeys are all in Pro. The free version shows traffic, not sales.
Why is it called Web Analytics for WooCommerce on wordpress.org?
The listing at wordpress.org/plugins/woo-customer-insight/ kept an older name and description. Installing it gives you the current Pulse Analytics plugin by Smackcoders.
Can I try it without installing it on my site?
Yes. Click Try Demo and InstaWP opens a throwaway WordPress site with the plugin installed. You can click through every screen, and connect a GA4 property if you want live numbers.
