Matt Mullenweg to Crown Winners at the AnyoneCanWP Hackathon on November 11

|

We kicked off the AnyoneCanWP Hackathon with an inspiring keynote from Yoast SEO founder Joost de Valk, setting the tone for a month of innovation and dedication.

Over the past four weeks, participants have poured their passion and creativity into their projects, fueling a steady buzz that hasn’t let up. Now, as the grand finale approaches, anticipation has reached a fever pitch, and we’re ready to unveil the best of the best.

Can you guess who?

Well, it’s time for a big reveal.

We’re honored to welcome Matt Mullenweg, Co-Founder of WordPress and CEO of Automattic, along with Jesse Friedman from Automattic, joining us for this big day.

Let’s tell you more about it.

Matt Mullenweg will Announce ACWP Winners

Matt Mullenweg will Announce ACWP Winners

We are excited to have Matt Mullenweg (@photomatt), the co-founder of WordPress, announce the winners of the AnyoneCanWP Hackathon. His involvement adds tremendous value to the event, and we can’t wait to hear his thoughts on the future of WordPress and the open web.

Alongside Matt will be Jesse Friedman (@Professor), Head of WP Cloud.

Jesse’s insights and experience in the WordPress community will make this moment even more impactful as they celebrate the remarkable achievements of the participants and reveal the winners.

Overall, hearing insights from these WordPress legends inspires us all and sets the stage for future possibilities.

The Hackathon: A Journey of Growth and Collaboration

This hackathon wasn’t just about creating amazing projects; it was a celebration of learning and building. Over several weeks, participants crafted innovative projects that showcase the flexibility and power of WordPress. The whole community cheered for these people.

Along the way, they gained valuable skills, collaborated with community members, and brought fresh ideas to life.

What’ll Happen to Submitted Projects?

Once the projects are submitted and winners are announced, the journey for these innovative ideas doesn’t end there. All of the hackathon submissions will be preserved and accessible to the WordPress community, contributing to the growth and evolution of the platform.

Many of the projects created during the event will be open-sourced, allowing anyone to use, adapt, and improve upon them. This aligns perfectly with the core values of WordPress—empowering individuals to build upon open-source foundations.
