Better Notifications for WP is a simple but powerful plugin for beginners to advanced users that allows you to customise the email notifications that WordPress sends using the WYSIWYG editor and shortcodes. All of the default WordPress email notifications are available to customise as well as lots of new ones. You can choose to send notifications to individual users, multiple users, all users in a user role, multiple roles – you name it! You can also power-up your notifications with Premium Add-ons. Emails are sent out via your WordPress website (using wp_mail) but can be sent via SMTP using an appropriate 3rd party plugin should you wish.

I've used this plugin on several sites and it does a fantastic job of sending notification emails to the blog admin and subscribers. It'seasy to set up, the instrcutions are very clear, and makes you look really professional, especially when sending HTML baased email notifications. Kudos to the developer, he has thought this through from every angle and created a solution to a nagging problem, I highly recommend it.

We run a multi-author blog and use this nice plugin to notify multiple admins when any one of us registers a new user, and what their role is. No more need to worry if a hacker added the user account! Had a question about usage, and the plugin author responded to a post in the support forum quickly and with a thorough explanation.
