For those who have been using the InstaWP Launcher Chrome Extension to spin up WordPress sites on the go quickly, you might have noticed that it is currently unavailable in the Chrome Web Store.
Rest assured, this is not due to any security concerns or technical issues with the extension. You can use this link to download the extension.
In this blog post, we have discussed what happened and what we’re doing to resolve it. But first, if you are not an existing user, let us tell you what InstaWP Launcher does.
What is the InstaWP Launcher Chrome Extension?
The InstaWP Launcher Chrome Extension is a powerful tool designed for WordPress developers, agencies, and testers. It allows users to instantly create WordPress sandbox sites with just one click directly from their browser.
Whether you’re browsing a plugin repository, reading a tutorial, or testing a theme, this extension makes it easy to spin up a test environment without leaving your current page. It integrates seamlessly with InstaWP, enabling fast site creation with preconfigured templates.

Why Was the Extension Removed?
The removal of our extension was purely an administrative matter. The Google Chrome team required additional verification for our developer account, and unfortunately, their notification got buried in our emails. Since we didn’t respond in time, Google removed the extension as part of their policy.
What This Means for Users
If you have already installed the extension, it will still function as expected. However, new users and those looking to reinstall it won’t be able to find it in the Chrome Web Store until we complete the verification process.
What We Are Doing to Bring It Back
We are actively working on getting our account verified with Google and expect to have the extension reinstated soon. Our team is in direct communication with Google’s support team to expedite the process.
What can you do in the meantime?
#1 – Download and install manually
We have the extension available for users who want to continue using it. It’s completely safe to use it for WordPress plugin and theme testing. Download it now.
Rest assured, the plugin will soon be available in the Chrome store as well. And if you want to wait for that to happen, we totally understand it 🙂
#2 – Use InstaWP’s Repositories
You can still launch instant WordPress plugin or theme sites for testing directly from our plugin repository or theme repository without the extension. Just search, click Try Demo and launch test sites!
The Final Word
To be absolutely clear, the InstaWP Launcher Chrome Extension remains completely safe and fully functional. There were no security flaws, violations, or user concerns—this is merely a procedural step required by Google.
We will keep you posted on the progress and notify users as soon as the extension is back in the Chrome Web Store. In the meantime, you can stay updated through our blog, social media channels, and newsletter.
We appreciate your patience and continued support. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team.
