I really recommend this plugin because it simply works as promised. Tried duplicator and they blocked backups uploads in the free mode but the migrate guru does everything seamlessly for free. But after migration it requires some tweaks, for example updating admin password via phpmyadmin.

I went through so much difficulties with other plugins before i found this. chatgpt recommended it and it was awesome. 4-5 websites moved so easily without any single failure. these guys should publish a means to donate to support them. they are doing an awesome job.

Absolutely Nailed It

I can't recommend Migrate Guru highly enough. Although the initial instructions are a little confusing, once you get it wrong and realise what's needed, it's like a 4 click process. No limits, no crippled freeware trying to upsell, nothing. The migration worked flawlessly.

One recommendation for users, if you are migrating a site from a different domain to an already live domain, add a simple index.html after installing Wordpress on the destination, so that visitors don't see the WP install screen, and rename index.php. The migration will add the index.php from the source site, and it will just go live once the migration has completed and the migrated index.php is in place.
