About InstaWP

We're building WordPress for the agentic era.

One platform for the whole WordPress lifecycle: build a site as a sandbox, take it live with one plan change, then run a whole fleet. Per site, billed by the day.

The story, in three attempts
Why we exist

WordPress is easy to use and surprisingly hard to start. Spinning up a clean site to test a plugin or build a client demo meant wrangling servers, configs, and waiting.

Founder Vikas Singhal fell for WordPress around 2015 and kept hitting the same wall. He wanted a launcher that could put a real WordPress site in front of you in seconds, and then take it live just as fast. Getting there took three attempts.

The road here

Three attempts to put
WordPress at your fingertips.

01 cmslauncher.com

A UI on top of cPanel.

The first try launched WordPress on cPanel reseller accounts from a simple interface. It worked (for about a year) and proved people wanted one-click WordPress. Then it found a buyer.

OutcomeSOLD
02 tempress.com

Temporary sites on containers.

The second leaned on Docker and Kubernetes to serve throwaway WordPress sites. Technically elegant, but the per-site overhead made the unit economics impossible. Beautiful, and unsustainable.

OutcomeKILLED
03 instawp.com

Boring on purpose. Finally fast.

The breakthrough was the least glamorous one: plain nginx, PHP and MySQL, tuned relentlessly until a single small (~$20) VPS could comfortably host 200+ sites. The economics finally worked. Coverage from Post Status & WP Tavern and a growing community on X did the rest.

The breakthrough200+ sites · one $20 VPS

We wanted this to become AWS for WordPress.

Vikas Singhal  ·  Founder, InstaWP

Not a throwaway-sandbox tool anymore. The mission grew into something bigger: to be a great gateway to WordPress. One place to build a site, ship it to production, and run it for the long haul.

Where it's gotten to

The numbers, stated plainly.

2M+
WordPress sites created on InstaWP
10,000+
agencies & teams served
4.6/5
average user rating

Figures reflect sites created and customers served to date, not concurrently active sites. We'd rather under-promise than inflate.

What we believe

Opinionated about how
WordPress should work.

01

Start building. Pay for what you keep.

Every site is billed per day. Park one down to a $2 sandbox or delete it to change the bill: no annual prepay, no minimums. (Pausing a site does not stop billing; downgrade or delete to cut it.)

02

Build and ship in one place.

A sandbox becomes a live site with one plan change. Same site, same URL. It's an in-place plan change, not a migration, not an export/import dance.

03

Real WordPress. Real tools.

SSH, WP-CLI and Git on every site, including the $2 sandbox. Not a stripped-down preview pretending to be hosting.

04

Built for the agentic era.

An in-site WordPress MCP an AI agent can drive Live today. Account-wide MCP and AI agents are Coming soon.

Backing

Backed by Automattic.

A seed investment from Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and WooCommerce. A vote of confidence in building infrastructure for the whole WordPress ecosystem.
