InstaWP evolved in ways we’d always dreamt of, and we owe it all to our dedicated team and amazing user community. So, to our users and team, thank you for being the heart of everything we do. 🙌♥️

We Welcomed 16 New Team Members

We often hear, “You guys launch features really fast 🚀,” and we’d love to give credit to our team for that. Together, we pushed boundaries, tackled challenges, and created solutions that set us apart in the WordPress ecosystem.

Well, the good news is – we’ve expanded our team to ensure we continue to live by the same spirit. And to be honest, welcoming 16 new members was also about enriching our culture and fostering collaboration.  (Btw, our About Us page is updated 😉)

InstaWP Team

This year, our team grew not just in numbers but in expertise and diversity.

From developers to designers and support professionals and marketers, each addition brought unique skills and perspectives that elevated InstaWP.

For example, Yogesh Galav, our tech lead, played a crucial role in improving our dashboard’s speed by an incredible 10 times (If you are using InstaWP regularly in your workflows, you can tell the difference for sure.) Trust us, we’re not aggregating.

1 Million Staging Sites and Thousands of Hosted Sites

By October 2024, InstaWP hit a major milestone, which is 1 million staging sites created. To put this into perspective, it would take one person creating a new staging site every 30 seconds for an entire year to reach this number. Cool, right?

Our managed hosting service, launched in February 2024, already has thousands of hosted sites with hundreds of happy customers. For 2025, we hope it reaches the staging milestone. 😀

200k+ Users and 20,000+ Installations of InstaWP Connect

Take a look at this beautiful graph.

InstaWP Connect (WordPress staging, migration and site management plugin) has 20,000+ installs.

Reaching 200,000 users and surpassing 20,000 installations of InstaWP Connect marked a major milestone for us. The maturity in our offerings, paired with our commitment to excellence, fueled this record-breaking growth.

From launching over 20 new features to refining our UI for an intuitive user experience, every step was geared towards making InstaWP faster, smarter, and more reliable. Features like WaaS, advanced site management tools, and seamless hosting integrations allowed us to address our users’ real-world challenges.

Support Milestones of the Year

Behind every satisfied user is a team of dedicated professionals, and this year, our support team shone brighter than ever. The combination of technical expertise, quick response times, and genuine care made 2024 a year to remember for InstaWP’s support services.

Handling over 5,000+ support tickets in a single year might sound terrible, but our experts rose to the occasion with unparalleled professionalism. Their approach remained personal and empathetic while guiding users through complex migrations or resolving minor hiccups.

5000+ support tickets

Speed and efficiency were at the forefront of our support strategy. With an average first response time of 14 minutes and a resolution time of 16 hours, we set a new benchmark in customer care.

The above numbers aren’t just metrics; they reflect our philosophy of being there for our users when they need us most. The support team’s unwavering commitment earned us a 4.7/5 satisfaction rating (by 5120 customers), a testament to our users’ trust in us.

That’s not the end of the story. On Trustpilot, we are rated 4.9 out of 5 (121 reviews). We’re proud to be a trusted choice for WordPress professionals. And to be honest, it’s not all because of our product’s utility. Our exceptional support team also plays a vital role in earning this trust.

Our Content Growth in 2024

We truly believe our users and community need awesome content to understand our product and what it can help a WordPress professional/agency achieve. So, in 2024, InstaWP made significant strides in content creation, driving engagement, and establishing ourselves as a trusted resource for WordPress professionals.

Here’s a breakdown of our key efforts:

#1 – Website 2.0

At the start of 2024, we launched InstaWP 2.0, a redesign that improved navigation, speed, content, and user experience. We added useful visuals and information everywhere on our site. The new design and content made it easier for users to find information, access support, and discover features.

#2 – Blog Content

We published over 900 blog posts, covering topics such as tutorials, guides, WordPress in general, and industry insights. These posts generated 51 million impressions and 1.2 million clicks, solidifying our position as a go-to resource for our highly technical audience.

#3 – Video Content

We reached a key milestone with over 1,100 YouTube subscribers and focused heavily on visual content. Our offerings on our YouTube channel, including tutorials, product demos, and feature updates, were met with enthusiastic feedback from our growing audience.

In fact, our YouTube videos got 100k+ views in 2024. Isn’t it amazing?

#4 – Webinars

We started hosting webinars late in 2023, but 2024 redefined this valued stream for us.

Throughout the year, we hosted 21 webinars. Some focused on our products and features, while others were driven by our audience’s interests, featuring expert guest speakers on relevant topics. This helped us engage a wider audience and add value to our community.

If we talk about numbers, our webinar on the Power of Patterns had the highest number of live attendees (255), while the one on Website as a Service (WaaS) had the highest all-time views (2.8k and counting).

Overall, we had 3k+ live attendees and 10k+ watchers (non-unique) for our webinars.

#5 – Documentation and Social Media

We doubled down on our documentation efforts and ramped up our social media presence, ensuring our content was accessible and impactful across all channels. These efforts helped us increase our reach, build deeper relationships with our community, and showcase the innovative features that make InstaWP the platform of choice for WordPress professionals.

4 Highlights of 2024

#1 – InstaWP Live (February 2024)

The highlight of 2024 was the launch of InstaWP Live, our fully managed WordPress hosting service. This was a game-changer, offering features like real-time failover, automated backups, CDN support, and DDoS protection.

We saw rapid adoption of the service, with thousands of hosted sites and a growing base of happy, productive customers. InstaWP Live sets the bar for what managed hosting should be—easy to use, secure, and optimized for WordPress workflows.

#2 – AnyoneCanWP Hackathon (October-November 2024)

In October and November, we hosted the AnyoneCanWP Hackathon, the world’s first and one-of-its-kind hackathon open to anyone in the WordPress community.

With a prize pool of over $10,000 and a lineup of industry experts as judges, the event was a resounding success. It allowed anyone, regardless of experience level, to contribute and showcase their skills.

The hackathon culminated in an exciting live-streamed finale with Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress, distributing prizes and celebrating the incredible talent within the WordPress ecosystem.

#3 – Launch of Site Management Features (December 2024)

To close out the year, we launched a suite of Site Management features designed to give users more control over their WordPress sites.

From automatic monitoring facilities to enhanced update management, these new capabilities make managing multiple sites easier than ever.

With features like uptime monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and detailed activity logs, users can now ensure that their sites remain secure, fast, and optimized for performance, all with minimal effort. This launch was the perfect end to a year full of innovations, setting the stage for even more exciting developments in 2025.

#4 – Contributing to the Planet

With increasing revenue comes social responsibility. And there is no way we will step back from accepting it. This year, we took a step toward environmental responsibility by committing 1% of our revenue to climate initiatives via Stripe.

Supporting carbon removal technologies, this initiative aligns with our values of sustainability and innovation. It’s our way of giving back to the planet while driving positive change, ensuring that our growth contributes to a greener future for all. Small actions, big impact—every bit helps.

Our Brief but Powerful Community Appearances

In 2024, InstaWP’s team had the opportunity to attend some of the most prestigious WordPress events around the globe, and each one brought new experiences, knowledge, and community connections.

In March 2024, we visited WordCamp Asia in Taipei, Taiwan, where we had the chance to engage with WordPress enthusiasts from across Asia. The event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase InstaWP’s innovative features and connect with new users.

Later in the year, we headed to WordCamp Europe in Torino, Italy, in June 2024, where we had the privilege of meeting even more WordPress users, developers, and contributors. The event was packed with insightful talks, workshops, and networking opportunities, and it was a great moment to highlight InstaWP Live and discuss future developments.

December 2024 brought us to WordCamp Delhi, where not only did we get to interact with the WordPress community, but we also held an internal team bonding event and a happening lunch. This trip helped strengthen our team’s connections while reinforcing our mission to provide top-tier WordPress solutions.

2024: A Year of Product Evolution at InstaWP

2024 was a year of relentless innovation at InstaWP, where we focused on creating features to simplify the lives of WordPress professionals and help them get the most out of our platform.

#1 – Website as a Service (WaaS)

One of our standout innovations is WaaS, and we can firmly say that it matured in 2024.

For those who don’t know, WaaS allows agencies to offer care plans or fully managed WordPress solutions to clients without the complexities of hosting or technical maintenance. With it, users can focus on creating amazing websites while InstaWP manages the backend operations.

In simple terms, WaaS or WordPress SaaS enables you to sell websites like you sell SaaS subscriptions.

#2 – WordPress Site Management

We introduced several powerful tools to help users manage their sites more effectively and soon realized that agencies need a powerful suit that has them all. So, by December 2024, we launched a full-fledged WordPress site management offering that lets you manage basic to advanced sites using InstaWP.

Advanced Managed Sites have various automated functionalities. A few of them are:

  • The Uptime Monitor notifies users immediately if their site goes down, minimizing disruptions.
  • The Vulnerability Scanner proactively scans for common vulnerabilities, helping users address security risks in advance.
  • Activity Logs track every change made to a site, offering transparency and making it easier to audit websites.
  • Scheduling auto-updates saves you from updating sites separately and manually. Managed sites also have the ability to perform bulk updates for plugins and themes.

These features are especially useful for agencies and developers, allowing them to save time and reduce manual effort.

#3 – AI and Hosting Integrations

2025 will be the year of AI. Anticipating the same, we integrated AI website builders like ZipWP AI and Kadence to allow users to build websites in seconds using AI.

Use InstaWP to build websites in seconds using AI.

#4 – WordPress Migration Tool

In 2024, we launched a simple yet efficient and user-friendly WordPress migration tool that allows users to migrate sites with ease. By simply providing the source and destination URLs, users can migrate their WordPress sites in the most intuitive way possible.

The tool’s popularity is growing gradually, and it currently supports about 200+ migrations per day.

Note: For heavy sites (e.g., 40 GB), SSH Migration is the best way out.

In the future, we plan to expand this tool’s capabilities, adding more options to its interface. This will enable users to perform SSH migrations and handle more complex migration operations all from the same screen.

#5 – Multisite Support

After starting to support multisite for InstaWP Live, we realized our customers wanted this ability more than expected. So, we worked on gradually adding multisite support in migration, WaaS, staging, and managed sites.

#6 – Managed Hosting

Yeah, you read about it in the previous section (and that’s why it’s positioned later in this list). However, we would like to mention again that we made significant strides with the launch of InstaWP Live, a fully managed hosting platform.

InstaWP Live includes DDoS Protection, Real-time Failover, and a Content Delivery Network (CDN), ensuring websites are secure, fast, and always online. These features are essential for businesses that rely on WordPress for mission-critical applications.

#6 – Site Import Feature

By enhancing compatibility with popular tools, we ensure a faster, more flexible workflow for everyone who relies on InstaWP. For the same reason, InstaWP now allows you to import sites from WordPress Playground, UpdraftPlus, or Duplicator backups.

We hope it’ll make onboarding and migrations faster and more convenient for our users.

And before we miss this out, we must add that it’s now possible for InstaWP users to create staging with the WordPress beta version.

7 – Engineering Achievements

2024 was a year of exceptional engineering improvements that made InstaWP faster, more reliable, and even more efficient. Here’s a look at the strides we made:

  • 27 Releases, 20+ Features, 200+ Fixes: Our engineering team was really hard, ensuring continuous improvements in performance, stability, and user experience for InstaWP all the time.
  • 10x Dashboard Speed Boost: We improved the dashboard’s speed by 10 times. This change has significantly enhanced the user experience, making site management and navigation faster than ever.
  • Error Reporting Integrations: To ensure issues are quickly identified and resolved, we integrated error reporting tools like Sentry and Loki. These integrations help our team detect, troubleshoot, and fix issues faster, ensuring InstaWP remains reliable for all users.
  • New Micro-service for Activity Logs: We introduced a new micro-service called the API server to handle activity logs for connected sites.

#8 – Additional Features and UI/UX Improvements

In 2024, InstaWP added over 20 new features. However, it would have made a mess if user experience wasn’t our primary focus.

One of our biggest achievements was the UI/UX transformation, which simplified workflows and made the platform more intuitive. We reimagined our interface to enhance the user experience, making it easier than ever to manage websites, track performance, and integrate new features.

To tell you a secret, we are probably working on a new dashboard, too. 🤫

The 2025 Roadmap

2025 won’t be boring, trust us. That’s because our roadmap is more exciting than the timeline you know about. 😀

Most of it is already on our roadmap page, but if you want to know about the topmost items, they are:

1. Shift towards “A Complete Cloud” platform

We started as a temporary website launcher (CMSLauncher → Tempress → InstaWP) and quickly became a daily driver for building websites. Owning an InstaWP account was like having a local environment, but online (and for good).

Moving forward, we added a bunch of functionalities as time passed, such as Templates, Demos, Migrations, Hosting, WaaS, Site Management, and more.

Now, in 2025, we’re taking the next giant leap. We’re re-designing the experience to truly “feel” like a cloud, delivering seamless access to everything you need (and right when you need it).

Our vision? To be the backbone of WordPress, making your work faster, smarter, and more connected than ever.

2. Pay-as-you-go Billing Model

You shouldn’t have to pay for things you’re not using, right?

With this in mind, we’ve spent the last couple of months exploring (and brainstorming) the Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) model or Pay-Per-Use. And we’re serious about adopting it.

Rather than committing to fixed plans, you’ll be able to access any feature in our extensive cloud portfolio and pay only for the resources or features you actually use. This way, customers who only need specific InstaWP functionalities can make the most of our diverse feature set without paying for extras they don’t need.

Want to share your thoughts on this? Take this survey and help us.

3. Improvements in the Product

We’ve been hard at work, and it’ll only continue, given our roadmap has endless items.

In Site Management, features like Safe Updates and Backups are just the beginning. Another exciting feature coming in 2025 is Visual Regression for Advanced Managed Sites. By taking snapshots of websites and comparing them over time, users will be able to track changes and share regression reports more effectively.

Our WaaS platform is getting a major boost with an end-user portal, complete API integration, and enhanced support for third-party checkouts.

We are working on plugin and theme license integration to make it easier for users to manage their licenses across multiple websites.

We’re also improving workflows for Local to Staging to Production, introducing more export/import formats, and enhancing multilingual support.

Besides planned features and surprises in 2025, you can also expect integrations like a Static Site Exporter, Slow Plugin Scanner, and Security Scanner to make your workflow even smoother.

4. Complete Re-design of the Dashboard

In 2024, we put a strong focus on improving the user experience, and in 2025, we’re taking things up a notch. A major UI overhaul is in the works to make InstaWP smarter, more intuitive, and even easier to use.

Spoiler alert: We’re likely already working on a brand-new dashboard, feature renaming, and other exciting enhancements. 🤫

5. Focus on the Reliability of the Platform.

Reliability is at the core of everything we do. In 2025, we’re doubling down on delivering a stable, high-performance platform.

Our staging and migration processes are getting a significant speed boost, saving you valuable time. Additionally, we’re committed to minimizing bugs and enhancing platform stability so you can focus on building without interruptions. So, expect faster load times for your sites and dashboard.

Reliable, fast, and seamless — that’s our promise. 🙌

6. From Customer Support to Customer Success

For us, 2024 was a turning point in redefining how we approach customer support.

We reduced our response time and wait time significantly. We transformed various aspects of this operation for our customers. To say the least, we were more focused on listening, learning, and understanding your needs.

This transformation laid the foundation for something bigger: shifting from customer support to customer success. Customer Delight is the end-goal for us.

Our support team is evolving into your partners, ensuring you get the most out of InstaWP. After all, your success is our success.

7. Agency Program and Agency Directory

With thousands of agencies among our valued clients, it’s only natural for us to ask: How can we help WordPress agencies grow their business? This thought is the reason behind our two exciting initiatives – the Agency Program and the Agency Directory

The Agency program is about Revenue sharing, visibility boosts, white-labeled hosting, and Priority support. On the other hand, the Agency Directory, while part of the program, requires its own dedicated execution. The UI for this directory is finalized, development is underway, and we can’t wait to unveil it (in our next webinar).

Together, these initiatives aim to give agencies the tools and exposure they need to succeed.

8. Domains for your Sites

You can build with us, host with us, and buy domains with us (soon).

Yes, we’re going to make domain management easier in 2025. This integration will streamline the process, eliminating the need to search for external providers and simplifying domain mapping for a seamless experience.

To say the least, you’ll soon be able to do everything related to managing your WordPress site within the InstaWP dashboard.

9. InstaWP Academy

Customer education is a top priority for us, and we’re investing in it a lot already. InstaWP Academy is our next big effort in this direction.

We’re creating a comprehensive course covering every aspect of InstaWP. With course pages designed, video outlines ready, and many videos already created and edited, we’re excited to offer in-depth training that empowers our users to make the most of our platform.

10. Enterprise support

If you don’t know, it’s possible to Whitelabel our hosting service, migration service, and everything in between. And we were working on white-labeling the remainder in 2024.

Result? You can now whitelabel almost every part of InstaWP, making it ideal for SaaS, hosting, or plugin/theme companies.

By the way, we successfully onboarded numerous enterprise clients for white-label services in 2024. If you’re interested, 2025 could be the year we become allies.

Our Commitment to WordPress Professionals

At InstaWP, our mission has always been to make WordPress professionals’ lives easier. We’re committed to streamlining workflows, optimizing performance, and ensuring that every user has the support and resources they need to succeed.

Looking at these reviews, we guess we are heading in the right direction.

year in review

As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, we remain focused on enabling WordPress professionals to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving digital landscape. Together, we will continue pushing boundaries and making WordPress more powerful than ever.

Wrapping it Up

Before I go, I would like to thank our passionate community, super-active customers, and hard-working team for making 2024 a year to remember.

As we enter 2025, I am personally committed to making WordPress easier to build, host, manage, and sell. We’ll continue working tirelessly towards our ideology of “Zero Friction WordPress,” bringing the best of WordPress to every professional out there.

To be very honest, I’m excited to keep innovating and supporting you all in the years to come 🙂.

P.S. – If this resonated with you, share it with your circle and spread the word 🙂
