Our team has been working behind the scenes to give InstaWP’s dashboard a complete facelift, and now, it’s finally here!
Yes, we’ve completely redesigned the dashboard in v3.0.0, making it easier to navigate, quicker to use, and packed with productivity-boosting features. With this, we promise that your InstaWP experience is about to get faster, smoother, and more powerful than ever.
Complete Tour of the New Dashboard
We are excited to introduce you to the newly launched version 3 (v3) of the InstaWP Dashboard. The update brings a completely redesigned interface that enhances navigation, improves user experience, and provides quicker access to key features.
In this walkthrough, we’ll explore the key changes, highlight new features, and guide you on how to make the most out of the new dashboard. Let’s dive in!
The Revamped Layout
The primary goal of this new layout is to reduce clicks and deliver faster outcomes, making it easier for you to navigate through the dashboard seamlessly.
One of the first things you’ll notice is the new layout that includes:
- A Modern Sidebar: The sidebar has been reorganized to eliminate unnecessary tabs and merge key functions. This ensures that you can manage your sites, templates, and account settings more efficiently.
- A Redesigned Top Bar: The top bar now features quick access to important sections like announcements, subscription details, and separate menus for account and team settings.
Merged Hosting and Staging Under the ‘Sites’ Tab
A major change in v3 is that the Staging and Hosting options have been merged into a single section called ‘Sites.’
This new approach allows you to manage all your websites (whether they’re in staging or production) from one centralized tab. You no longer need to switch between multiple tabs, making it easier to keep track of all your WordPress instances.
Templates Tab: No Changes, Just Simplicity
If you’ve used InstaWP templates before, you’ll be happy to know that the ‘Templates’ tab remains unchanged. You can continue using your existing templates without any interruptions or modifications.
‘Manage’ Tab: Previously Known as ‘Connects’
We’ve renamed the ‘Connects’ tab to ‘Manage’ for better clarity.
The ‘Manage’ tab now allows you to handle your WordPress websites, even if they’re not hosted with InstaWP. This is a powerful new WordPress site management feature that gives you more control over external WordPress websites, making remote management even easier.
Also, the sites in the Manage tab are now classified as Basic and Advanced so that you can easily find the one you are looking for.
Bulk editing functionality for the managed sites is now easier to use. And the same functionality is replicated for sites and the whole dashboard.
When you open the settings for a managed site, you will find everything neatly arranged.
Our team is actively working on improving this feature to give you more flexibility and power over your WordPress instances. And honestly, we’re excited about how it is evolving 🙂
Settings and Integrations: Streamlined Under One Menu
InstaWP has now pulled out all the settings from the ‘My Account’ section and reorganized them under a separate area.
- Team Settings are no longer hidden under ‘My Account.’ Instead, they have been moved to a dedicated section, making it easier to configure team roles and permissions.
- Integrations and Account Settings are now part of a unified interface where you can tweak all the configurations you need to optimize your InstaWP experience.
Improved Top Bar: Quick Access to Essentials
The top bar has been enhanced to separate the ‘My Account’ and ‘Teams’ areas into individual menus.
- You can now quickly access important settings and manage your subscription without any confusion.
- The notifications and announcements section has also been refined to provide real-time updates on platform improvements and changes.
Sites Tab: A Deep Dive Into New Features
Now, let’s explore the ‘Sites’ tab, which has undergone significant changes in v3.
- All-in-One Dashboard: Whether you’re managing staging or production websites, everything is now listed under this unified tab.
- Filter and Sort Options: You can easily filter and sort your websites based on different criteria, allowing you to locate and manage instances quickly.
- Quick Actions: The new design includes contextual quick actions, enabling you to perform common tasks with fewer clicks.
- Site Description: It’s now possible to add a description about your site via site settings.
The inner tab for a particular site still loads the same options but with a different look and feel.
SSH Migration via UI
We didn’t stop at the interface – this update also adds some powerful new capabilities to our WordPress migration tool. One major addition is the ability to migrate sites using SSH, providing a faster and more reliable way to transfer a WordPress site.
Performance Enhancements
InstaWP v3 is not just about a new design—it’s about better performance. The new layout and backend optimizations result in faster page loads and a smoother user experience.
Whether you’re managing multiple websites or executing complex tasks, v3 ensures that you accomplish them with ease.
